Senior Industrial Engineer - Plant Operations

About the Role

Our client is seeking a seasoned Senior Industrial Engineer to oversee and enhance plant operations in Vereeniging . This critical role involves leading initiatives to improve productivity, efficiency, and quality across all manufacturing processes. You will analyze complex operational challenges, design innovative solutions, and implement strategies that align with the company's strategic objectives. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in industrial engineering, a strong understanding of manufacturing systems, and a proven ability to drive significant improvements.

This is a hands-on position requiring on-site presence to effectively manage and optimize plant activities.

• Lead the analysis and redesign of manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and lower production costs.
• Develop and implement strategic plans for plant layout optimization, material flow, and capacity enhancement.
• Conduct detailed performance analysis of equipment and personnel, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions.
• Oversee the implementation of new technologies and automation solutions within the production environment.
• Develop and mentor junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
• Manage projects from conception through implementation, ensuring timely delivery and budget adherence.

• Master's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field is preferred.
• A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in industrial engineering within a heavy manufacturing or complex production environment.
• Expertise in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma (Black Belt certification highly desirable), and advanced statistical analysis.
• Proven track record of successfully leading significant operational improvement projects.
• Strong leadership, project management, and change management skills.
• Proficiency in simulation software, ERP systems, and data analytics platforms.
