About the Role

Our client is recruiting dedicated individuals for an Apprentice Fitter and Turner position in Klerksdorp. This apprenticeship focuses on the precise machining and assembly of metal components, parts, and machinery. You will learn to operate a variety of machine tools, such as lathes, milling machines, and grinders, to shape metal to exact specifications. Working closely with skilled tradespeople, you will gain invaluable experience in reading technical drawings, performing precision measurements, and assembling complex mechanical systems, setting the stage for a rewarding career in precision engineering.

• Operate lathes, milling machines, shapers, and grinders to produce precision metal parts.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and schematics to understand specifications.
• Perform precise measurements using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
• Assemble, fit, and install machinery, components, and mechanical systems according to plans.
• Maintain machine tools and workshop equipment, ensuring they are in good working order and properly lubricated.

• Grade 12 or equivalent, with a strong background in Mathematics and Technical subjects.
• Excellent mechanical aptitude and a keen interest in precision metalwork.
• Ability to understand and work from technical specifications and drawings.
• Good problem-solving skills and attention to the smallest detail.
• Commitment to safety procedures and maintaining a high standard of workmanship.
