Draughtsman

This role requires proficiency in Solid Works , a strong understanding of mechanical drawing principles , and the ability to work closely with engineers, workshop staff, and customers to deliver high-quality technical outputs for production and fabrication.

• Drafting
• Produce accurate CAD part and assembly drawings (*.dxf, *.pdf) for production and fabrication.
• Check and pre-inspect all drawings, parts, and assemblies.
• Generate drawings from sketches or sample parts.
• Issue drawings and QCPs while maintaining data packs.
• Update bills of materials to reflect design changes.
• Perform final inspection of components with dimensional reports before delivery.
• Monitor assigned projects to completion and prepare all documentation.

• Create and modify 3D models and detailed designs.
• Perform skeleton creation, welding, and chamfering of assemblies.
• Participate in design reviews and take full project responsibility where required.
• Conduct site visits for measurements of existing or revised products.

• Assist with manufacturing issues in the workshop.
• Adhere to company procedures and processes.
• Assist with ordering of materials for specific projects.
• Liaise with customers and suppliers, handling queries professionally.

• Matric/Grade 12 certificate.
• NQF 4 learning with mathematics and technical drawing.
• Knowledge of steel types, materials, and applications.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
• Understanding of forgings, castings, and plate materials.
• Minimum 13 years working experience.
• Proficiency in 3D Modelling and Solid Works .
• Knowledge of machining tolerances (essential).
• Knowledge of PDM (advantageous).
