Maintenance Engineer

About the Role

Our client, a leading manufacturing facility, is seeking a qualified and experienced Maintenance Engineer to join their team in Nelspruit . This role is crucial for ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of all plant machinery and equipment. You will be responsible for implementing preventative maintenance programs, diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical issues, and ensuring a safe and efficient operational environment.

This is a key position for an individual dedicated to upholding the operational integrity of a busy production plant.

• Develop and implement comprehensive preventative maintenance schedules for all plant machinery and equipment.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on production machinery.
• Perform timely repairs and planned maintenance activities to minimize downtime.
• Manage spare parts inventory and ensure availability of critical components.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations related to maintenance activities.
• Work closely with production teams to understand equipment needs and operational impacts.
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment performance.

• National Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in maintenance engineering within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Experience with preventative and predictive maintenance techniques.
• Proficiency in reading technical drawings and schematics.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced setting.
