About the Role

Our client, a reputable aviation maintenance organization in Nelspruit , is seeking a skilled Aircraft Structures Mechanic . This role is vital for maintaining the structural integrity and airworthiness of aircraft. You will be responsible for the inspection, repair, and fabrication of aircraft structural components made from various materials, including aluminum alloys, composites, and steel. The ideal candidate possesses strong hands‑on skills, a thorough understanding of structural repair techniques, and a commitment to safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect aircraft structures for damage, corrosion, and fatigue, using visual inspection techniques and specialized equipment.
  • Perform repairs and modifications to aircraft structural components according to approved data and engineering drawings.
  • Fabricate new structural parts using sheet metal, composite, or other relevant materials.
  • Perform riveting, sealing, bonding, and other assembly processes for structural repairs.
  • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with manufacturer specifications, company procedures, and aviation regulatory requirements.
  • Document all maintenance and repair actions accurately in the aircraft logbook and maintenance records.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Aircraft Structures Mechanic or in a related sheet metal or composite fabrication role.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting structural repair manuals, blueprints, and engineering drawings.
  • Skilled in sheet metal repair techniques, including forming, riveting, and sealing.
  • Experience working with composite materials is highly desirable.
  • Understanding of aviation structural integrity principles and safety practices.
  • Trade qualification or certification in aircraft structures is preferred.
