Minimum requirements:
- Matric
- Any additional tertiary qualifications will be advantageous
- 8 Years of manufacturing and factory management experience
- Proven experience managing Department Managers or Production Managers
- Knowledge of production planning, stock control, waste reduction and quality management
- Understanding of maintenance and labour productivity
- Experience working with KPIs and corrective actions
- Computer literacy
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Lean Six Sigma or Kaizen will be advantageous
- Valid drivers license plus own reliable vehicle
- Take full operational control of the factory and establish clear priorities
- Ensure all departments work together to achieve production plans and customer requirements
- Conduct regular factory-floor inspections and address safety, quality and efficiency issues
- Manage Department Managers through targets, KPIs, accountability and consistent follow-up
- Monitor production output, waste, stock control, efficiency and downtime
- Ensure quality standards are maintained and corrective actions are implemented
- Manage staffing, labour, discipline, training and team development
- Ensure health and safety, housekeeping and 5S standards are maintained
