About the Role
Our client is seeking a hands-on and proactive Chemical Engineer to join their plant operations team in Benoni . This role is essential for ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable day-to-day functioning of our chemical manufacturing facility. You will be responsible for process monitoring, troubleshooting operational issues, implementing minor process improvements, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations. Working closely with plant operators and maintenance personnel, you will play a key role in maintaining optimal production output and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

- Monitor plant operations, analyze process data, and identify deviations from optimal performance.
- Troubleshoot process upsets and implement immediate corrective actions to minimize downtime.
- Support the implementation of process improvement projects and modifications.
- Ensure strict adherence to all safety, health, and environmental (SHE) protocols within the plant.
- Assist in developing and updating standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Collaborate with the maintenance team to ensure equipment reliability and availability.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering .
- Experience in chemical plant operations or process engineering in a manufacturing environment.
- Solid understanding of chemical plant equipment, unit operations, and process control.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and environmental regulations relevant to chemical manufacturing.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills for team collaboration.
