Industrial Engineer - Manufacturing Process Improvement

About the Role Our client, a prominent manufacturing firm in Nelspruit
, is seeking a dedicated Industrial Engineer to join their on-site team. This role is central to driving continuous improvement initiatives within our production facilities. You will be responsible for analyzing manufacturing processes, identifying inefficiencies, and implementing solutions to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and improve product quality. The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of manufacturing systems, lean principles, and has a passion for optimizing operational performance.

• Analyze existing manufacturing processes to identify opportunities for improvement in efficiency, throughput, and cost reduction.
• Design and implement new manufacturing processes and workflows using principles of lean manufacturing and Six Sigma.
• Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all manufacturing processes.
• Utilize statistical tools and techniques to monitor process performance and identify root causes of defects or inefficiencies.
• Collaborate with production, quality, and maintenance teams to implement process changes and ensure successful integration.
• Design factory layouts and optimize material flow to improve workspace efficiency and safety.
• Develop and manage project plans for process improvement initiatives, ensuring on-time and within-budget completion.
• Train production staff on new processes and best practices.
• Evaluate and recommend new equipment or technologies to enhance manufacturing capabilities.

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in an industrial engineering role within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles (e.g., 5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping) and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Proficiency in CAD software for layout design and process visualization.
• Experience with statistical analysis software (e.g., Minitab, JMP).
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to work effectively on the shop floor and collaborate with production personnel.
• Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems is a plus.
