About the Role

Our client, a non-profit organization dedicated to environmental conservation in the Nelspruit area, is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Grant Writer and Researcher . This role is fundamental to securing the necessary funding to support critical conservation projects and operational needs. You will be responsible for identifying grant opportunities, conducting thorough research, and crafting compelling proposals that effectively communicate the organization's mission and impact to potential funders.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated writer to play a key role in advancing environmental protection efforts through strategic resource acquisition.

Key Responsibilities
  • Research and identify potential grant funding opportunities from foundations, corporations, and government agencies.
  • Write, edit, and submit high-quality grant proposals, applications, and reports.
  • Develop strong relationships with program staff to gather necessary information for grant applications.
  • Maintain a database of grant opportunities, deadlines, and reporting requirements.
  • Track grant funding outcomes and prepare final reports for funders.
  • Stay informed about best practices in grant writing and fundraising trends.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience (3+ years) as a Grant Writer , preferably within the non-profit sector.
  • Excellent research, writing, and editing skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex information into clear and persuasive proposals.
  • Familiarity with grant cycles, proposal guidelines, and reporting requirements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with grant research databases.
