Staff Nurse Grade 1 – Grade 3

Compensation

• Grade 1: R229 440.00 – R260 520.00 per annum
• Grade 2: R272 778.00 – R310 890.00 per annum
• Grade 3: R319 071.00 – R397 392.00 per annum

• Qualifications that allow registration with SANC as Staff Nurse (Enrolled Nurse)
• Current registration with SANC as Staff Nurse (Enrolled Nurse)
• Knowledge of nursing care processes and procedures, nursing statutes and other relevant legal principles
• Basic communication skills, elementary writing skills, ability to function as part of a team and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of Batho Pele principles and Patients’ Rights Charter
• Must be prepared to work shifts, including night duty, weekends, and public holidays
• Appropriate experience after registration as a Staff Nurse (Enrolled Nurse) with the SANC
• Grade 1: no experience
• Grade 2: minimum of 10 years appropriate/recognisable experience in nursing after registration with SANC as a Nursing Assistant
• Grade 3: minimum of 20 years appropriate/recognisable experience in nursing after registration with SANC as a Nursing Assistant
• Covid‑19 contract officials are encouraged to apply

• Measure, interpret and record vital signs
• Give health education to clients
• Assist professional nurses with procedures
• Prepare patients for diagnostic and surgical procedures
• Sustain nutritional status of patients
• Engage with the community and other stakeholders
• Provide elementary nursing services under the supervision of a professional nurse within the scope of practice as defined by the South African Nursing Council and the Charter of Nursing Practice
• Maintain the code of conduct as required in the Public Service
• Perform all other duties delegated by Supervisor/Manager
