• Basic R425 or a degree in General Nursing, Psychiatry, Community or Midwifery, or a Diploma in General Nursing with Midwifery, or an equivalent qualification with midwifery experience.
• Qualification in Nursing Management, Administration or Health Services Management.
• Proof of current registration with the SANC as a professional nurse.
• Minimum of seven (7) years of appropriate, recognisable experience in nursing after registration as a professional nurse.
• Computer literacy.

• Demonstrate understanding of nursing legislation and related legal and ethical practices.
• Demonstrate understanding of maternal guidelines, women’s health regulations, CTOP, and colposcopy services.
• Promote quality of nursing care in line with professional scope of practice and nursing standards.
• Facilitate and oversee development and implementation of operational and business plans.
• Facilitate and oversee staff development.
• Work as part of the multidisciplinary team to ensure high‑quality nursing care.
• Monitor utilization of financial and human resources.
• Conduct periodic audits and develop quality improvement plans in line with Ideal Hospital Realization.
• Demonstrate understanding of infection prevention and control guidelines.
• Maintain professional and ethical standards, promoting the image of the nursing profession and the hospital.
• Provide effective support to nursing services, including relief duties as required.
• Demonstrate effective communication with patients, supervisors, other health professionals, and junior colleagues, including complex report writing when required.
• Manage own work, time, and that of junior colleagues to ensure proper nursing service.
• Develop contacts, build and maintain networks of professional relationships to enhance service delivery.
• Display strong leadership and problem‑solving skills.
• Apply research skills to advise hospital management.
