OPERATIONAL MANAGER NURSING‑GENERAL: GYNAECOLOGY

Number of Posts: 1
Qualifications- Basic R425 or a degree in General Nursing, Psychiatry, Community or Midwifery, or a Diploma in General Nursing with Midwifery, or an equivalent qualification with midwifery experience.
- Qualification in Nursing Management, Administration or Health Services Management.
- Proof of current registration with the SANC as a professional nurse.
- Minimum of seven (7) years of appropriate, recognisable experience in nursing after registration as a professional nurse.
- Computer literacy.
- Demonstrate understanding of nursing legislation and related legal and ethical practices.
- Demonstrate understanding of maternal guidelines, women’s health regulations, CTOP, and colposcopy services.
- Promote quality of nursing care in line with professional scope of practice and nursing standards.
- Facilitate and oversee development and implementation of operational and business plans.
- Facilitate and oversee staff development.
- Work as part of the multidisciplinary team to ensure high‑quality nursing care.
- Monitor utilization of financial and human resources.
- Conduct periodic audits and develop quality improvement plans in line with Ideal Hospital Realization.
- Demonstrate understanding of infection prevention and control guidelines.
- Maintain professional and ethical standards, promoting the image of the nursing profession and the hospital.
- Provide effective support to nursing services, including relief duties as required.
- Demonstrate effective communication with patients, supervisors, other health professionals, and junior colleagues, including complex report writing when required.
- Manage own work, time, and that of junior colleagues to ensure proper nursing service.
- Develop contacts, build and maintain networks of professional relationships to enhance service delivery.
- Display strong leadership and problem‑solving skills.
- Apply research skills to advise hospital management.
