• Assist and support patients with activities of daily living (physical care) and self‑care, providing quality care in line with the scope of practice and guidelines.
• Administer elementary clinical nursing care according to scope of practice.
• Maintain professional conduct, self‑development, and adherence to ethical standards.
• Provide health education to patients, families and the community to promote health.
• Work cooperatively with nurses and other health‑care professionals as part of the multidisciplinary team.
• Utilise materials and resources effectively and efficiently.
• Communicate orally and in writing at elementary level and maintain positive interpersonal relations.

• Must possess qualification that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a nursing assistant.
• Must hold current SANC registration as a nursing assistant.
• For Grade 1: no mandatory experience required.
• For Grade 2: minimum 10 years of recognised nursing experience post‑SANC registration.
• For Grade 3: minimum 20 years of recognised nursing experience post‑SANC registration.

  • Grade 1 — R 181 230.00 p.a. (plus 37 %)
  • Grade 2 — R 211 401.00 p.a. (plus 37 %)
  • Grade 3 — R 249 141.00 p.a. (plus 37 %)
