The Nursing Manager is responsible for leading and directing the nursing service within the hospital, ensuring high standards of patient safety, patient experience, and effective management of human and operational resources.

• Develop, implement, and monitor the hospital-specific nursing strategy
• Promote and support a culture of quality nursing care and patient safety
• Manage resources to ensure optimal operational efficiency
• Oversee and enhance the patient experience
• Lead and manage nursing staff
• Manage relationships with key stakeholders

• Professional Nurse qualification
• Postgraduate Diploma in Health Services Management or an accredited Management Qualification
• Postgraduate Diploma in Nursing (required when managing a specialist hospital, e.g., Mental Healthcare)

• Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Professional Nurse in a hospital setting
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Nursing Management role

• Auditing and accreditation processes
• Clinical risk management
• Computer literacy (Microsoft Office)
• Continuous improvement and quality assurance methodologies
• Financial management
• Knowledge of the healthcare industry
• Human resource processes, including employee relations
• Infection prevention and control
• Staff productivity management
• Nursing functional expertise
• Patient complaint management
• Knowledge of relevant nursing legislation
