Operational Manager General

• Package : R  - R654 285 .00 Grade 1 per annum (plus benefits) R 661 572 .00 - R 752 913 .00 Grade 2 per annum (plus benefits) (NB: salary will be determined in line with OSD Resolution)

• Diploma/ Degree in nursing that allows registration with SANC as a Professional Nurse (R425). A minimum of 7 years of appropriate experience in Nursing after registration as a general Professional Nurse with SANC. One year post-basic qualification in Nursing Administration, and a valid driver’s license will be an added advantage. Registration certificate and proof of current SANC receipt.

• Supervise the provision of optimal, holistic nursing care with set standards. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrate basic understanding of human resources, disciplinary procedures, as well as financial management policies, guidelines, and practices. Basic computer literacy and report writing skills are essential. Managing material, human, and financial resources. Ensure implementation of quality nursing standards in accordance with nursing legislation and ethical practice.
  
  Provide professional, technical, and management support for the provision of quality patient care through management of nursing care programs. Advocate for the promotion of nursing ethos and professionalism. Monitor the implementation of policies, programs, regulations, practices, protocols/ procedures, and standards pertaining to nursing care. Establish, maintain, and participate in the interprofessional multidisciplinary team for effective and efficient health care. Manage clinical learning exposure to nurses and students between colleges and clinical areas.
  
  Manage and monitor absenteeism in accordance with relevant directives and prescripts. Collaborate with other team members in the hospital to identify actual and potential risks. Support nursing and health care research to improve the quality of care. Actively participate in the implementation of the Ideal Hospital Assessment. Coordinate the implementation of continuing professional development (CPD) for nurses and midwives. Working shifts and relieving Nursing Management after hours.
  
  Knowledge of PSI policy guidelines and management of complaints. Develop and implement Quality Improvement Plans. Actively participate in the implementation of the health information policy by submitting all required monthly statistics.
