Our client, a leading organisation in the private healthcare sector, is looking for a dedicated Professional Nurse – Theatre Scrub to join their dynamic healthcare team in Welkom.
In this vital role, you will play an integral part in delivering exceptional perioperative care, supporting surgical teams, and ensuring the highest standards of patient safety and clinical excellence.
As a Theatre Scrub Nurse, you will:- Deliver safe, comprehensive, and patient-centred nursing care throughout the perioperative journey.
- Collaborate closely with surgeons, anaesthetists, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Identify, prevent, and manage clinical risks to ensure optimal patient safety.
- Create a supportive, compassionate, and reassuring environment for patients before, during, and after surgery.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation in line with hospital policies and professional standards.
- Contribute to continuous learning, staff development, and a culture of clinical excellence.
- Make a meaningful difference where it matters most — in the operating theatre and in the lives of your patients.
Essential
Qualifications:
- Degree or Diploma in General Nursing from an accredited institution.
Advantageous
Qualifications:
- Midwifery qualification.
- Postgraduate qualification or diploma in a relevant nursing speciality.
- Additional specialised training related to surgical or perioperative care.
At least 1 year of postgraduate experience in a specialised nursing environment before placement within a surgical setting.

- Infection prevention and control
- Perioperative pharmacology
- Evidence-based nursing practices
- Patient assessment and clinical decision-making
- Nursing care planning and implementation
- Accurate clinical documentation and record keeping
- Individualised patient care plans
- Nursing legislation and professional standards
- Risk management and patient safety
- Microsoft Office and general computer literacy
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Additional certifications such as ACLS, ATLS, or PALS will be advantageous depending on the clinical environment.
