Job Description
A lodge in Kwa Zulu-Natal is looking for a passionate and knowledgeable Field Guide to deliver exceptional wildlife experiences for guests. The successful candidate will conduct guided game drives, share knowledge of the natural environment, and contribute to the overall guest experience at the lodge.
Conduct morning and late afternoon/evening game drives for guests
Provide informative and engaging wildlife interpretations
Ensure the safety of guests always during activities
Prepare vehicles before drives and wash/clean vehicles after use
Assist with hot box preparation and drive refreshments
Maintain guiding equipment and vehicles in good condition
Assist with general lodge duties when required
Uphold high standards of hospitality and guest service
Valid Field Guide qualification (NQF
2) NQF 4 advantageous Min 1 years experience
Valid driver’s license and PDP
First Aid certification
Strong knowledge of wildlife, ecology, and conservation
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Professional, well-presented, and guest-focused
Ability to work long hours in outdoor conditions
Team player with a positive attitude
Passion for wildlife and conservation
Energetic and enthusiastic personality
Responsible and safety-conscious
Excellent storytelling and guest engagement skills
- Live in with meals
- 6 weeks on and 2 weeks off
- Salary between R8000 - R11000 with 1 - 3 years working experience
- Salary between R11,000 - R15,000 3+ years working experience
Valid Field Guide qualification Valid driver’s licence and PDP First Aid certification Strong knowledge of wildlife, ecology, and conservation Good communication and interpersonal skills Professional, well-presented, and guest-focused Ability to work long hours in outdoor conditions Team player with a positive attitude
