About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated Pharmaceutical Formulation Scientist to join their innovative product development team in Vereeniging. This role is central to designing and developing novel drug delivery systems and optimizing existing formulations to enhance therapeutic efficacy and patient compliance. You will work with a range of dosage forms, from oral solids to injectables. This position offers a significant opportunity to contribute to the advancement of pharmaceutical technologies in Gauteng, working in a collaborative environment that values scientific exploration and product innovation.
Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, and characterize various pharmaceutical dosage forms, including tablets, capsules, creams, and sterile injectables.
- Conduct pre-formulation studies to understand the physicochemical properties of drug substances and excipients.
- Perform stability studies and analyze results to ensure product shelf-life and quality.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment used for formulation development and characterization.
- Collaborate with analytical development and manufacturing teams to ensure successful technology transfer.
- Prepare comprehensive formulation development reports and contribute to regulatory filings.
- Master's or Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Pharmaceutics, or a related discipline.
- 3-5 years of hands-on experience in pharmaceutical formulation development.
- Proven expertise in various dosage form design and development techniques.
- Familiarity with analytical methods used for characterization and stability testing.
- Strong understanding of pharmaceutical excipients and their impact on drug delivery.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team in Vereeniging.
