Our client is seeking a skilled and innovative Formulation Scientist to join their expanding Research & Development department in Benoni . This role is crucial for the development of stable, effective, and commercially viable pharmaceutical dosage forms. You will be responsible for designing, optimizing, and scaling up formulation processes, working with a variety of drug substances and delivery systems. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the entire product development lifecycle, from concept to commercialization, within a company that values scientific excellence and innovation in drug delivery systems.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop novel pharmaceutical formulations for various dosage forms (e.g., oral, injectable, topical).
- Conduct pre-formulation studies to characterize drug substances and excipients.
- Optimize formulation parameters and manufacturing processes to achieve desired product characteristics and performance.
- Perform stability studies and interpret data to assess product shelf-life.
- Collaborate with analytical development, process engineering, and manufacturing teams.
- Prepare technical reports, documentation for regulatory submissions, and present findings internally.
- Master's or PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in pharmaceutical formulation development.
- Proven experience with various dosage forms and formulation technologies.
- Strong understanding of physical chemistry, materials science, and drug delivery principles.
- Familiarity with GMP requirements and regulatory guidelines for drug product development.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and strong experimental design skills.
