Measurement and Testing / Materials Quality Specialist Responsibilities- The Measurement and Testing / Materials Quality Specialist is responsible for safeguarding material and product quality by ensuring that all incoming materials, in-process samples, and finished products meet defined specifications and quality standards.
- The role acts as the custodian of material specifications, measurement systems, and testing methods, while driving compliance, managing non-conformances, and enabling continuous quality improvement across the value chain. Through accurate testing, data analysis, and professional judgement, the role supports operational excellence, supplier quality performance, and regulatory compliance.
- Serve as custodian of material specifications to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Oversee incoming material inspections, making accept/reject decisions based on defined criteria.
- Implement and monitor sampling plans and testing methodologies.
- Manage retention and reference samples for traceability and regulatory compliance.
- Identify and assess non-conforming materials, making disposition decisions aligned with business and regulatory requirements.
- Raise and document non-conformances, ensuring timely communication with suppliers and procurement teams.
- Drive closure of non-conformance issues to protect business continuity and customer satisfaction.
- Lead validation, calibration, and verification of measurement and testing equipment to maintain accuracy and reliability.
- Oversee microbiological and chemical testing programs to safeguard product integrity.
- Ensure implementation of Product Evaluation and Monitoring Programs (PEMP).
- Guarantee that only validated methods are applied, driving compliance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs).
- Participate in or develop proficiency testing schemes to benchmark performance.
- Manage measurement and testing of in-process and finished products to ensure adherence to schedules and standards.
- Interpret test results, making informed accept/reject decisions.
- Provide expert opinion and guidance in cases of non-conforming results.
- Escalate non-conformance issues to manufacturing, processing, and site quality leadership.
- Analyze material test results and trend data to identify opportunities for process and quality improvement.
- Review equipment performance data to detect trends and drive corrective actions.
- Lead quality-focused continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce risk.
- Develop and deliver training programs to build organizational capability in quality management and testing practices.
- Act as a subject matter expert, fostering a culture of compliance, precision, and continuous improvement.
