Our client in the Scaffolding Industry is seeking to employ a QC in Corrosion Control to join their team.
Please note that this is a (fixed-term contract).

Duties and Responsibilities

Surface Preparation Inspection

Verifies that surface preparation methods (e.g., abrasive blasting, grinding) meet required standards.
Inspects for surface cleanliness, profile height, and checks for surface contaminants like oil, dust, or moisture before coating.

Coating Application Control

Ensures the correct paint or coating systems are used as per project specifications.
Monitors environmental conditions during application, including temperature, humidity, and dew point.
Oversees the correct mixing ratios, induction times, and application techniques (brush, roller, or spray).

Quality Testing & Inspection

Conducts Wet Film Thickness (WFT) and Dry Film Thickness (DFT) measurements.
Inspects for coating defects like runs, sags, blistering, and delamination.

Documentation and Non-Conformance Management

Accurately completes daily inspection reports, checklists, and QC documentation to ensure material and batch traceability.
Prepares Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) if work falls short of specifications and follows up on corrective actions.

Experience and Qualifications

National Senior Certificate
Relevant experience in corrosion control, coating inspection, or quality control
Computer literacy for reporting and documentation.
Valid driver’s licence, if travelling between sites is required.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to complete accurate reports and maintain traceability records.
Ability to read and interpret project specifications and inspection reports.
Knowledge of health and safety requirements in an industrial or site environment.
Minimum 5 years’ relevant work experience.
Any required certification level, for example NACE Level 1, Level 2, or equivalent.
AWPP Certification
