Overview of Envusa Energy
Envusa Energy is a licensed energy trader and focused on delivering innovative and industry leading renewable energy solutions to private offtakers across Southern Africa. We have a stated aim of developing up to 5GW Renewable Energy generation portfolio by 2030. Construction of the first 520 MW of wind and solar projects is at an advanced stage and started delivering electricity to offtakers in March 2026.
Purpose of the role:
The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for the quality assurance of the Sishen project at all stages of the project life cycle from financial close to the achievement of commercial operations.
The Quality Assurance Manager works closely with the Project Development and Project Execution teams. The role provides advice and guidance on industrial contracts before Financial Close. During project execution, the QA manager supports the management and enforcement of EPCC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning) contracts and applies lessons learned from previous projects.
Key tasks and responsibilities
The Quality Assurance Manager shall guide the project execution team of the Sishen project for each area of its operations and ensure its adequate deployment. In accordance with the QA strategy and the execution plan, the following key elements are implemented:
- Drive a quality culture that promotes efficiency, effectiveness, and First-Time Quality across all business processes.
- Develop, implement, and maintain the Quality Management Plan in alignment with Envusa Energy's Quality Policy.
- Establish quality objectives, performance measures, and reporting systems, including project-level quality dashboards through the EPIC framework.
- Develop and maintain quality management systems, procedures, and documentation to ensure contractor compliance with contractual specifications and standards.
- Deliver quality inductions for new employees and ongoing quality awareness training for existing staff.
- Facilitate regular Quality Management Review meetings.
- Establish and manage project document control, collaboration, and correspondence systems from the development phase onwards.
- Ensure all quality documentation is uploaded onto the Electronic Document Management System (EDMS)
- Review Contractor's Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and quality files and ensure quality files are compiled progressively
- Coordinate closure on non-conformances
- Ensure Contractor implements the approved quality management plan and conduct regular quality audits on the Contractor's quality management system
- Lead the Lessons Learned programme, including governance, workshops, repositories, reviews, action tracking, and knowledge sharing across all project phases.
- Ensure lessons learned from development, execution, and operations are captured, communicated, and incorporated into future projects and business processes.
- Apply quality improvement methodologies, including Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA), performance metrics, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Identify and manage QA/QC risks, budget requirements, resource planning, and cost-control measures.
- Develop project-specific quality plans aligned with contractual and project execution requirements.
- Establish and lead project QA/QC teams, ensuring suitably qualified and competent resources are available.
- Drive continuous improvement through best practices, audit findings, quality performance data, and corrective actions.
- Develop and implement project audit programmes to ensure compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements.
- Assess supplier and subcontractor capabilities and monitor compliance with project quality requirements.
- Ensure robust change management processes are implemented and effective across all project phases.
- Analyse quality data using Statistical Process Control (SPC), KPIs, and Cost of Quality metrics to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
- Participate in internal operational, project, and client meetings, providing quality performance updates and resolving quality-related issues.
