Compliance Clerk

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Compliance Clerk to support our Quality and Compliance function within a dynamic fresh produce environment. This role is ideal for an individual who is passionate about food safety, quality assurance, and maintaining compliance with local and international audit standards.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring that food safety systems, audit requirements, and compliance documentation are effectively maintained and implemented across the business.

Key Performance Outputs

Compliance & System Implementation

• Assist with maintaining and implementing BRCGS system requirements.
• Ensure all SIZA requirements are maintained and annual Self-Assessment Questionnaires (SAQs) are completed timeously.
• Support the implementation of TESCO Nurture, Field to Fork, and Farming for the Future requirements.
• Assist with the implementation and maintenance of GlobalG.A.P. standards.
• Promote compliance awareness and support compliance campaigns throughout the business.
• Monitor Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and report any non-conformances.

Audit Preparation & Documentation

• Assist in preparing for internal and external audits.
• Maintain accurate compliance records and documents.
• Conduct data analysis and trend reporting.
• File and manage compliance reports and audit documentation.
• Log, investigate, and follow up on non-conformances.
• Ensure high standards of documentation control and record keeping.

Environmental Monitoring

• Coordinate the submission of microbiological and heavy metal samples to accredited laboratories.
• Liaise with laboratories regarding testing schedules, results, and equipment requirements.
• Ensure accurate tracking and maintenance of environmental monitoring records.
• Consumables Management
• Purchase compliance-related consumables as required.
• Monitor and control stock levels of consumables and related materials.

Qualifications & Experience

• Grade 12 / Senior Certificate (essential).
• Certificate or Diploma in Food Safety Programmes, Horticulture, Agriculture, or a related field (advantageous).
• Food Safety and Quality Management training such as HACCP, FSSC 22000, BRCGS, or GlobalG.A.P.
• Experience with in a food production environment.
• Knowledge of berries, stone fruit, and grapes is advantageous.
• Experience in the inspection of fresh produce or food products is preferred.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
