We are currently looking for a Quality Controller who will inspect completed repairs, verify workmanship, ensure compliance with maintenance procedures, and support continuous improvement within the workshop.
Minimum Qualifications
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- Diploma or Certificate in Quality Management, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field (advantageous)
- ISO 9001 Internal Auditor training (advantageous)
- RTMS knowledge (advantageous)
- Valid South African Driver's Licence ( Code 10 or 14 )(advantageous)
- Trade Test Certificate as a Diesel Mechanic (preferred), or
- National Certificate in Diesel Mechanics or Heavy Vehicle Maintenance
- 3–5 years' experience in Quality Control or Quality Assurance.
- Experience with in logistics, warehousing, transport, or vehicle logistics.
- Inspect all completed mechanical repairs before vehicles are released.
- Verify that repairs comply with manufacturer (OEM) specifications.
- Conduct quality inspections on trucks, trailers, and related equipment.
- Identify workmanship defects and ensure corrective actions are completed.
- Ensure mechanics follow standard repair procedures and workshop policies.
- Verify the quality of replacement parts and materials used.
- Conduct road tests where required to confirm repair quality.
- Monitor repeat repairs and investigate root causes.
- Prepare inspection reports and maintain quality records.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and company standards.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the workshop.
- Assist with technical guidance and mentoring of workshop staff.
- Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to quality.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and other applicable quality standards.
- Perform internal quality audits.
- Assist during customer and external audits.
- Background in spray painting will be an advantage
