Quality & Safety Supervisor – Manufacturing

ABOUT THIS ROLE

Are you an experienced Quality and Safety professional with strong manufacturing experience and a solid understanding of ISO, SHE and compliance requirements?

Our client is seeking a Quality & Safety Supervisor to oversee quality and health & safety systems within a manufacturing environment. This role will be responsible for maintaining compliance, managing quality and SHE processes, conducting audits and investigations, and supporting the ongoing implementation and improvement of the site’s management systems.

• Monitor and maintain quality and SHE systems, processes and related documentation
• Conduct quality and SHE audits and ensure compliance with applicable requirements
• Monitor product quality in line with ISO 9001 standards
• Conduct sampling of clay stockpiles while they are being built
• Interpret quality results and data and compile relevant reports
• Maintain and manage SANS 227 requirements
• Manage and monitor quality and risk management processes
• Conduct accident and incident investigations
• Compile safety statistics, reports and related documentation
• Train employees on health and safety procedures
• Manage SHE administration, records and controlled documentation
• Maintain applicable ISO systems and ensure documentation remains accurate and current
• Ensure compliance with the Mine Health and Safety Act and OHS Act
• Support the effective implementation and continual maintenance of the Integrated Management System
• Identify opportunities for continual improvement across quality, safety and compliance
• Promote a strong culture of quality, health and safety within the manufacturing environment

• Matric / Grade 12
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Quality, Safety, SHEQ or a related field would be advantageous
• National Diploma in Safety, SAMTRAC, Health & Safety or similar would be advantageous
• Minimum 4–5 years’ experience in quality and/or safety within a manufacturing environment
• Strong practical knowledge of ISO 9001
• Knowledge of SANS 227 and quality management requirements
• Working knowledge of the Mine Health and Safety Act and OHS Act
• Strong understanding of risk management processes
• Experience with quality results, data interpretation and report writing
• Good numeracy and literacy skills
• Computer literate
• Strong English communication skills
• Valid Code 8 driver’s licence
• Strong attention to detail, organisation and analytical skills
• Ability to manage both quality and SHE responsibilities within a busy manufacturing environment
