Project Quality Manager | Renewable Energy | Postmasburg, Northern Cape

Introduction

Kwena Human Capital is recruiting an experienced Quality Manager to join the Redstone PV + BESS Project
, comprising a 19 MWp Solar PV plant and 30 MWh / 4-hour BESS
.

This is an opportunity to be part of a utility-scale renewable energy project covering design, construction, commissioning and close-out
. We are looking for professionals with strong relevant project experience who are comfortable working in a full-time, site-based environment and operating within a multidisciplinary project team.

Project Execution

• Supporting the project team in delivering works according to the approved programme, specifications and project requirements.
• Coordinating activities with other disciplines, subcontractors and project stakeholders.
• Monitoring progress and identifying potential delays or constraints.
• Ensuring activities are completed safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.

Technical / Engineering

• Reviewing drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
• Supporting design close-out and resolution of technical queries/RFIs where applicable.
• Coordinating technical interfaces between PV, electrical, BESS, SCADA/PTMC and other disciplines.
• Providing technical support during construction, testing and commissioning.

Construction

• Supervising and coordinating site activities within the relevant discipline.
• Managing work fronts and subcontractor activities.
• Ensuring materials and equipment are available when required.
• Monitoring productivity, progress and workmanship.

Quality

• Ensuring works comply with approved drawings, specifications, ITPs and quality requirements.
• Supporting inspections, punch-list activities and close-out.
• Maintaining accurate project records and as-built documentation.

HSE

• Complying with project HSE requirements and South African legislation.
• Participating in risk assessments, toolbox talks and site inspections.
• Exercising stop-work authority where applicable.
• Promoting a strong safety culture throughout the project.

Essential:

• National Diploma / BTech / BSc / BEng in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, Quality Management or a related field
• A recognised Quality Management / QA/QC qualification would be advantageous.
• ISO 9001 Lead Auditor / Internal Auditor certification would be highly advantageous.

Minimum 8–10 years' relevant QA/QC experience with:

• At least 5 years in a Quality Manager / QA/QC Manager capacity
• Proven experience on large-scale construction or EPC projects
• Strong experience developing, implementing and managing Quality Management Systems
• Experience with ITPs, inspection records, NCRs, quality documentation and punch-list management
• Experience with incoming material and equipment inspections
• Experience managing as-built documentation and quality dossiers
• Experience working with multiple subcontractors and multidisciplinary construction teams
• Experience monitoring contractor/subcontractor compliance with project specifications and quality requirements
