Analytical Chemistry Intern

Sappi is offering a one-year Analytical Chemistry Internship at its Saiccor Mill in Umkomaas, Kwa Zulu Natal. This program is designed for recent graduates in Chemistry and provides practical, hands‑on experience in laboratory and pilot plant operations. Under the guidance of experienced mentors, interns will gain exposure to experiments, data analysis, equipment operation, and reporting, ensuring a smooth transition into the professional environment while contributing to meaningful projects.

• Assist with laboratory and pilot plant experiments using Sappi's standard operating procedures
• Operate bench‑top and pilot scale equipment
• Generate data and conduct basic analysis
• Report data from experiments and field testing in written reports and presentations
• Participate in maintenance and troubleshooting of pilot plant equipment

• Diploma (Requiring P1 and P2) or Bachelor's degree in Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry, or a related field
• No prior experience required
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook and Teams)
