Senior Immunologist - Vaccine Development

About the Role

Our client is actively seeking a skilled Senior Immunologist to contribute to groundbreaking vaccine development efforts at their facility in Benoni . This critical role involves designing and conducting preclinical studies to evaluate the immunogenicity and efficacy of novel vaccine candidates. You will play a key part in understanding immune responses to infectious agents and developing innovative strategies for disease prevention.

The ideal candidate is a highly motivated scientist with a deep understanding of immunology and a proven ability to drive research projects forward in a collaborative setting.

• Design and execute in vitro and in vivo immunological assays to assess vaccine responses.
• Analyze and interpret complex immunological data, including flow cytometry, ELISpot, and antibody-based assays.
• Contribute to the development and optimization of vaccine formulations and delivery systems.
• Collaborate with virology, molecular biology, and preclinical development teams to advance vaccine candidates.
• Prepare research reports, manuscripts for publication, and presentations for scientific meetings.
• Stay current with the latest advancements in immunology, vaccinology, and related fields.

• Ph.D. in Immunology, Molecular Biology, or a related life science discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of post-doctoral or industry experience in immunology research, with a focus on vaccine development.
• Hands-on experience with a variety of immunological techniques, including cell-based assays, ELISA, and flow cytometry.
• Strong understanding of host-pathogen interactions and adaptive/innate immune responses.
• Demonstrated ability to manage research projects and contribute to scientific strategy.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills for this role in Benoni .
