Research Associate - Biochemistry

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Research Associate with a focus on Biochemistry to join their dynamic research team in Benoni. This hybrid role is ideal for an individual passionate about unraveling biological processes at the molecular level. You will be responsible for designing and executing experiments, analyzing biochemical data, and contributing to the development of new scientific insights. Working collaboratively with senior scientists, you will utilize state-of-the-art laboratory equipment and techniques.

• Perform a variety of biochemical assays, including enzyme activity, protein quantification, and binding studies.
• Isolate, purify, and characterize proteins and other biomolecules.
• Operate and maintain laboratory instrumentation such as spectrophotometers, chromatographs, and centrifuges.
• Analyze experimental data using appropriate software and contribute to data interpretation.
• Maintain accurate and detailed laboratory records and contribute to report writing.
• Collaborate with team members on project planning and experimental design.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Molecular Biology, or a related field.
• Hands-on experience with biochemical techniques and instrumentation.
• Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation, including statistical analysis.
• Strong understanding of protein chemistry and enzyme kinetics.
• Ability to work effectively in a laboratory setting and contribute to collaborative projects.
