About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Chemical Research Scientist to join their dedicated R&D team in Benoni . This role offers a hybrid work arrangement, blending focused lab work with remote research and analysis. You will lead innovative research projects aimed at developing new chemical products and processes. This position requires a deep scientific understanding, creativity, and the ability to translate complex research findings into tangible advancements.
You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, contributing to the company's pipeline of next-generation chemical solutions.
- Lead and execute cutting-edge research projects in the field of chemical synthesis and material science.
- Design and conduct complex experiments, analyze data, and interpret results to drive project objectives.
- Develop novel chemical formulations and processes for new product applications.
- Collaborate with engineering and product development teams to ensure successful scale-up and commercialization of new technologies.
- Author scientific publications, patent applications, and technical reports.
- Mentor junior scientists and guide their research efforts.
- Ph.D. in Chemistry , Chemical Engineering, or a related field with a strong research background.
- 7+ years of experience in chemical research and development, with a proven record of innovation.
- Expertise in organic synthesis , catalysis, or polymer chemistry is highly desirable.
- Proficiency with advanced analytical techniques (e.g., NMR, GC-MS, HPLC, FTIR).
- Strong project management skills and the ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment.
