About the Role
Our client is seeking a talented Research Scientist with expertise in Pharmacology to join their dedicated R&D team based in Benoni. This role will involve designing and conducting in vitro and in vivo studies to evaluate the efficacy and safety of novel drug candidates. Working within a hybrid framework, you will balance hands-on laboratory research with remote data analysis, interpretation, and collaboration.

- Design and execute pharmacological assays to assess drug target engagement and efficacy in relevant disease models.
- Conduct in vivo studies, including dose-ranging, PK/PD, and toxicology assessments.
- Analyze and interpret complex experimental data, utilizing statistical software and biological expertise.
- Contribute to the development of pre-clinical drug development strategies.
- Prepare comprehensive reports, present findings to project teams, and contribute to regulatory submissions.
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in pharmacology and therapeutic areas of interest.
- Ph.D. in Pharmacology, Toxicology, or a related life science discipline.
- 2-4 years of relevant post-doctoral or industry experience in drug discovery.
- Proficiency in various pharmacological techniques, including in vitro assays and animal models.
- Experience with pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic studies is highly desirable.
- Strong data analysis and interpretation skills, with excellent scientific writing capabilities.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for a hybrid work setting.
