About the Role
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Research Scientist with a strong background in Analytical Chemistry to join their expanding research department in Klerksdorp . This role is critical for developing and validating new analytical methods to support product development and quality control processes. The scientist will utilize a wide range of advanced analytical instrumentation and techniques to characterize complex samples, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of scientific data.
You will be part of a collaborative team focused on innovation and problem-solving, contributing to the company's commitment to scientific rigor and excellence in a laboratory environment equipped with state-of-the-art technology.
- Develop, validate, and optimize analytical methods for various sample matrices using techniques like HPLC, GC-MS, ICP-MS, and NMR.
- Perform routine and non-routine analysis of raw materials, intermediates, and finished products.
- Operate and maintain advanced analytical instrumentation, ensuring calibration and performance standards.
- Troubleshoot analytical issues and provide solutions to complex chemical problems.
- Document all experimental procedures, results, and conclusions meticulously in laboratory notebooks and reports.
- Collaborate with R&D chemists and engineers to interpret analytical data and support product development efforts.
- PhD or Master's degree in Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in method development and validation in an industrial or academic research setting.
- Extensive hands-on experience with a variety of analytical techniques, particularly chromatography and mass spectrometry.
- Proficiency in data analysis software and good laboratory practices (GLP).
- Strong understanding of chemical principles and problem-solving capabilities.
