About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Biostatistician to play a lead role in the design, analysis, and interpretation of clinical trials within their Scientific Research & Development division, based in Vereeniging. You will be responsible for ensuring the statistical integrity of research studies, contributing to drug development and validation. This role requires a strong understanding of statistical methodologies applied to healthcare research and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including clinical researchers, data managers, and regulatory affairs specialists.
Key Responsibilities- Design clinical trial protocols, including sample size calculations and statistical analysis plans.
- Perform statistical analyses of clinical trial data using SAS, R, or similar software.
- Interpret statistical results and contribute to the preparation of study reports, manuscripts, and regulatory submissions.
- Provide statistical expertise and guidance to research teams throughout the trial lifecycle.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines (e.g., ICH, FDA) for statistical reporting.
- Mentor junior biostatisticians and contribute to departmental best practices.
- Ph.D. or Master's degree in Biostatistics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in biostatistics, with a focus on clinical trial analysis.
- Proficiency in statistical software packages such as SAS, R, or SPSS.
- Strong understanding of clinical trial design and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a research-focused environment in Vereeniging.
