Senior Research Scientist - Immunology

Our client is seeking a highly motivated and accomplished Senior Research Scientist specializing in Immunology to join their leading research division in Vereeniging . This role is integral to discovering and developing novel immunotherapies and vaccines. You will lead research efforts focused on understanding complex immune responses, identifying new therapeutic targets, and developing innovative approaches to modulate the immune system for treating diseases.

• Design and execute advanced immunology experiments, including cell-based assays, flow cytometry, and functional immune response studies.
• Investigate immune mechanisms in disease models and identify novel therapeutic targets for immunomodulation.
• Develop and validate new assays to assess immunogenicity and efficacy of potential therapeutics and vaccines.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including virologists, vaccinologists, and clinicians to advance research programs.
• Analyze complex immunological datasets and interpret results to guide experimental strategies.
• Present research findings at internal meetings and external scientific conferences.

• Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Immunology, Molecular Biology, or a related life science field.
• Minimum of 5 years of post-doctoral research experience in immunology, with a strong publication record.
• Proven expertise in cellular immunology, including T cell, B cell, and cytokine biology.
• Hands-on experience with techniques such as flow cytometry, ELISpot, multiplex assays, and primary cell culture.
• Familiarity with vaccine development or immunotherapy research is highly desirable.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills to thrive in a collaborative research setting in Vereeniging .
