Research Fellow - Pharmacology

Our client is seeking a dedicated Research Fellow to join their pioneering pharmacology research team based in Klerksdorp . This role is vital for advancing our understanding of disease mechanisms and identifying novel therapeutic targets. You will design and conduct preclinical studies, analyze complex biological data, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of scientists. The ideal candidate is passionate about drug discovery and possesses a strong academic background with practical experience in experimental pharmacology.

• Design and execute in vitro and in vivo experiments to evaluate drug efficacy and safety.
• Perform data analysis using statistical software and interpret results to guide research direction.
• Investigate disease mechanisms at the cellular and molecular levels.
• Contribute to the development of new research proposals and grant applications.
• Collaborate with medicinal chemists and other research scientists to advance drug discovery programs.
• Maintain detailed laboratory notebooks and prepare scientific reports and presentations.

• Ph.D. in Pharmacology, Toxicology, or a related biomedical science.
• A minimum of 4 years of postdoctoral research experience in a relevant field.
• Hands-on experience with various pharmacological assays, such as receptor binding, enzyme inhibition, and cell-based assays.
• Proficiency in experimental design, statistical analysis, and scientific writing.
• Experience with animal models of disease and relevant ethical considerations.
• Strong ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a research team.
