About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Analytical Chemist to join their advanced research laboratory in Welkom . This role is crucial for ensuring the quality, purity, and consistency of a diverse range of chemical products through rigorous analytical testing. You will be responsible for developing, validating, and implementing sophisticated analytical methods using a variety of state-of-the-art instrumentation. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in spectroscopic, chromatographic, and wet chemistry techniques, coupled with a strong understanding of regulatory compliance and data integrity.

- Develop, optimize, and validate analytical methods for the characterization of raw materials, intermediates, and finished products.
- Perform routine and complex analyses using a range of instrumentation, including HPLC, GC-MS, FTIR, and ICP-MS.
- Troubleshoot analytical instrumentation and resolve technical issues to ensure data accuracy and reliability.
- Interpret analytical data, generate comprehensive reports, and communicate findings to research and development teams.
- Ensure compliance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and other relevant quality standards.
- Mentor junior chemists and provide technical guidance on analytical challenges.
- M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of hands‑on experience in an analytical chemistry laboratory setting.
- Extensive experience with chromatographic techniques (HPLC, GC) and mass spectrometry.
- Proficiency in spectroscopy (UV-Vis, FTIR, NMR) and other relevant analytical methods.
- Knowledge of method validation principles and regulatory guidelines (e.g., ICH, FDA).
