Research Scientist - Organic Synthesis

Our client is looking for a talented Research Scientist with a strong background in organic synthesis to join their expanding research and development division in Klerksdorp . This role is integral to the discovery and development of new chemical entities with potential pharmaceutical or industrial applications. You will be responsible for designing and executing complex multi-step synthesis, purifying compounds, and characterizing them using modern analytical techniques.

Working within a collaborative R&D team, you will contribute to innovative projects and help drive scientific advancements in a stimulating work environment.

• Design and execute synthetic routes for novel organic molecules.
• Perform multi-step synthesis and purification of target compounds.
• Characterize synthesized compounds using techniques such as NMR, MS, and HPLC.
• Troubleshoot synthetic challenges and optimize reaction conditions.
• Maintain detailed laboratory notebooks and contribute to the preparation of research reports.

• Ph.D. or Master's degree in Organic Chemistry or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience in synthetic organic chemistry, including route design and execution.
• Proficiency with standard laboratory techniques and analytical instrumentation.
