Senior Research Scientist - Pharmacology

Our client is seeking an accomplished Senior Research Scientist with a strong background in Pharmacology to join their R&D team in Klerksdorp . This role is central to discovering and developing novel therapeutic agents. You will be responsible for designing and executing in vivo and in vitro pharmacological studies, analyzing drug efficacy and safety profiles, and contributing significantly to the drug discovery pipeline.

The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of drug action mechanisms, a proven track record in preclinical research, and a commitment to scientific excellence within a fast-paced, collaborative research environment.

• Design and conduct pharmacological studies to evaluate the efficacy and safety of potential drug candidates.
• Develop and validate in vitro and in vivo assay systems relevant to specific disease areas.
• Analyze pharmacological data, interpret results, and generate comprehensive study reports.
• Contribute to the selection and prioritization of drug candidates for further development.
• Collaborate with medicinal chemists, toxicologists, and other R&D team members.
• Stay current with scientific literature and emerging trends in pharmacology and drug development.

• Ph.D. in Pharmacology, Toxicology, or a related life science discipline.
• Minimum of 7 years of relevant research experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
• Proven expertise in designing and executing preclinical pharmacological studies.
• Strong understanding of pharmacokinetic (PK) and pharmacodynamic (PD) principles.
• Experience with various animal models and standard laboratory techniques.
• Excellent scientific writing, presentation, and communication skills.
