Research Scientist - Immunology

Our client is seeking a dedicated Research Scientist with a specialization in Immunology to join their dynamic R&D team in Klerksdorp . This role is integral to advancing our understanding of immune system responses and developing novel immunotherapies. You will design and execute experiments focused on immune cell function, cytokine profiles, and immune-mediated disease mechanisms. Working within a collaborative environment, you will contribute to cutting-edge research aimed at addressing unmet medical needs through innovative immunological approaches.

• Conduct experimental work to investigate immune cell activation, differentiation, and effector functions.
• Develop and optimize assays for measuring cytokine production, antibody responses, and immune cell interactions.
• Analyze immunological data, including flow cytometry, ELISpot, and multiplex assays.
• Contribute to the design and execution of studies evaluating the efficacy and safety of immunomodulatory compounds.
• Maintain detailed laboratory notebooks and prepare reports summarizing experimental findings.
• Collaborate with other scientists to integrate immunological data with other research areas.

• Ph.D. in Immunology, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of post-doctoral or industry experience in immunology research.
• Hands-on experience with common immunological techniques such as flow cytometry, ELISA, western blotting, and cell-based assays.
• Strong understanding of cellular and humoral immunity.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative research team in Klerksdorp .
