Executive Chef - Umhlanga, Kwa Zulu-Natal
Salary: R70 000 per month
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Executive Chef to lead all culinary operations at an upscale hotel in Umhlanga. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing kitchen operations across all outlets, ensuring exceptional food quality, maintaining profitability, and leading a high-performing culinary team.
Key Responsibilities
-Direct and manage all kitchen operations
-Develop innovative, seasonal menus aligned with brand standards
-Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency
-Full responsibility for food cost control and gross profit margins
-Menu costing and pricing strategy & budget planning and stock control
-Recruit, train, and develop kitchen staff
-Ensure strict adherence to food safety and hygiene regulations
Requirements
-Culinary Diploma or relevant qualification
-Minimum 5–8 years’ experience in a senior kitchen leadership role
-Proven experience in a 4 or 5-star hotel environment
-Strong financial acumen and cost-control expertise
