Kitchen Manager – Luxury Lodge | Hazyview

Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced and driven Kitchen Manager for a luxury lodge based in Hazyview. This role is ideal for a senior culinary professional with an Executive Chef mindset who is confident overseeing kitchen operations strategically rather than being hands-on in daily cooking.

Salary: R25,000 per month

Key Requirements

Qualifications and

Experience:

• Relevant culinary qualification

• Proven experience in a senior kitchen leadership role within a luxury lodge or hotel environment

• Strong understanding of kitchen operations, systems and workflow

• Experience managing kitchen budgets and food cost controls

• Solid knowledge of stock control and procurement processes

Skills and

Competencies:

• Executive Chef mentality with strong leadership capability

• Ability to oversee and manage the kitchen without being operationally focused on cooking

• Strong financial acumen and budget management skills

• Excellent organisational and planning skills

• Confident in implementing systems and maintaining standards

• Strong team leadership and staff management abilities

• High level of accountability and professionalism

• Detail-oriented with a focus on efficiency and consistency

Key Responsibilities

• Overseeing full kitchen operations and ensuring smooth daily functioning

• Managing stock control, ordering and supplier relationships

• Monitoring and controlling food costs and kitchen budgets

• Implementing and maintaining kitchen systems and standards

• Supervising and leading the kitchen team

• Ensuring compliance with health, safety and hygiene regulations

• Working closely with lodge management to align culinary operations with overall business objectives
