Kendrick Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of a luxury private game reserve in Hoedspruit for an experienced Executive Chef to lead the culinary operation and establish a brand-new kitchen to luxury standards.

This role is ideal for a hands‑on, highly organised chef with strong leadership skills and proven experience in setting up kitchens from the ground up within a luxury hospitality or lodge environment.

• Set up and establish a brand-new kitchen, including layout, equipment, systems, and workflows
• Design and execute high-quality menus aligned with a luxury safari experience
• Oversee all food preparation, presentation, and service standards
• Manage kitchen staff, including recruitment, training, and performance management
• Control food costs, stock ordering, waste management, and budgeting
• Ensure strict compliance with hygiene, health, and safety standards
• Maintain consistency and excellence across all meals and dining experiences
• Work closely with lodge management to deliver exceptional guest satisfaction

• Proven experience as an Executive Chef within a luxury lodge, hotel, or high‑end hospitality environment
• Demonstrated experience in setting up and launching a new kitchen operation
• Strong leadership, organisational, and mentoring skills
• Excellent knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen management systems
• Ability to work in a remote or bush environment
• Passion for quality, creativity, and attention to detail
