Assistant Store Manager - Potchefstroom

Our client is recruiting for an Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in the day-to-day operations of the store, ensuring exceptional customer service, strong sales performance, effective team leadership, and efficient stock management. The role assists in driving profitability while maintaining the highest standards of merchandising, housekeeping, and operational excellence.

• Assist the Store Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the retail store.
• Lead, motivate and supervise the sales team to achieve sales targets.
• Deliver exceptional customer service and resolve customer queries professionally.
• Ensure the store is well-presented and visual merchandising standards are maintained.
• Manage stock receiving, replenishment, stock counts and inventory accuracy.
• Monitor and minimise stock losses through effective loss prevention practices.
• Assist with staff scheduling, training and performance management.
• Oversee cash handling, banking and point-of-sale procedures.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and health & safety standards.
• Prepare daily sales reports and complete required administrative duties.
• Support promotional campaigns and drive sales through effective merchandising.
• Act as Store Manager in their absence, ensuring smooth and efficient store operations.

• Grade 12 (Matric).
• Diploma or certificate in Retail Management or Business Management is advantageous.
• 2–4 years' retail experience within the apparel or fashion industry.
• Previous supervisory or team leader experience.
• Experience using retail point-of-sale systems.
• Strong understanding of retail operations and merchandising principles.
