Cashier, Retail Associate/ Customer Service
Location: Aberdeen
Positions and Hours
- Retail Assistant – Royal Cornhill Hospital Cafe: 15 hours per week Monday – Friday – 11:30‑14:30 Permanent
- Retail Assistant – Cairngorm Aroma, ARI: 30 hours per week 2‑week rota Monday – Friday – Alternating (Week 1 – 07:00‑13:30, Week 2 – 12:00‑18:30) Permanent
- Retail Assistant – Brookside: 9 hours per week 4‑week rota Saturday 4.5 hrs, Sunday 4.5 hrs (08:00‑12:30, 08:30‑13:00, 10:30‑15:00, 15:00‑19:30) – must be available for all shifts in rota Permanent;
Band 2 hourly rates Sat £20.47, Sun £26.73 - Retail Assistant – Aroma Rotunda Cart: 17.5 hours per week Monday – Friday – 12:30‑16:00 Permanent
- Retail Assistant – Aroma Concourse, ARI: 25 hours per week Monday – Friday – 12:00‑17:00 Permanent
Assist the organisation in providing patients, staff and visitors with a high quality, customer focused and safe retail beverage and food service. Contribute to the operation and cleanliness of the Retail Units and their associated equipment whilst ensuring high levels of food safety, service and customer satisfaction. The main base will be at the location specified per post but may have to work in other units if required.
Qualificationsand Experience
- Previous experience working face to face with the public in a busy, fast‑paced customer‑service centred role meeting customer expectations.
- Experience of ‘Barista’ style coffee service.
- Retail, food & beverage service knowledge acquired through training and experience.
- Capability to undertake and retain knowledge through induction & on‑the‑job training relating to HACCP, food safety, customer service and health & safety.
- Customer service focused with good communication skills and attention to detail.
- Numerate, literate & practical with the ability to use initiative.
- Basic IT skills.
- Working knowledge of EPOS tills, chip and pin transactions & previous cash handling experience.
- Health & safety conscious.
- Calm, pleasant disposition.
- Person‑centred with a genuine interest in working with the public.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
- Ability to follow clear instructions.
- Works well as part of a team.
