General Assistant (External Applications Only - Etwatwa). In this role you will ensure comprehensive customer service in the store, merchandise stock, label shelf prices, and maintain housekeeping within the designated area of responsibility.

Requirements
  • Minimum Grade 10 or NQF 3 with at least one year of work related experience, or Grade 12 without related work experience.
  • Ability to communicate in English and the dominant language spoken in the geographical area where the position is available.
  • Valid South African  work permit.
  • Ability to perform basic calculations accurately.
  • Willingness to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
Key Performance Areas Customer Service
  • Advise and assist customers on correct products and queries.
  • Assist with and resolve customer complaints.
Merchandising Standards
  • Bulk stock area must be merchandised safely and according to store layout plan.
  • Ensure full merchandising of area according to store layout and planograms.
Housekeeping
  • Ensure area is free of obstacles, stock is merchandised immediately after being received, and customers can enter and leave aisles without risk.
  • Correct shelf price labeling within area of responsibility.
  • Complete checklists when on duty with canteen and toilet/showers schedule.
Safety (OHSA) Requirements
  • Compliance with OHSA (e.g., use of safety gear, ensuring customer and staff safety) within area of responsibility.
  • Ensure stock is merchandised safely to protect customers and colleagues.
  • Report any discrepancies to the Store Manager.
  • Manage stock loss.
  • Report damaged stock within area to Store Manager.
