- Minimum education level:
Grade 12 or equivalent NQF level - Basic computer literacy to handle essential digital tasks
- Experience in a food retail or similar customer service environment is advantageous
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including early mornings and weekends
- Strong communication skills to engage effectively with customers and team members
- Basic numeracy and literacy skills for stock management and record-keeping
- Knowledge of food safety, hygiene standards, and cold chain management
- Attention to detail to ensure stock rotation, merchandising, and shrinkage control
- Demonstrated personal discipline including punctuality, dress code adherence, and team collaboration
- Ability to identify quality issues and manage returns or report suspicious activities responsible
- Deliver exceptional customer service by greeting customers warmly and responding to their needs effectively.
- Apply selling skills by advising customers on product options, promotions, and alternatives when items are unavailable.
- Manage stock efficiently by implementing stock rotation, maintaining cold chain and hygiene standards, and replenishing shelves accurately.
- Identify and address quality concerns promptly, including isolating damaged goods and managing returns to vendors.
- Adhere strictly to shop-keeping disciplines including gap policies, planograms, and maintaining a clean, tidy department.
- Minimise shrinkage by reporting dishonest acts, managing stock losses, and following red flag processes and security protocols.
- Demonstrate product knowledge to assist customers and promote new lines and ongoing promotions in the department.
- Exhibit personal leadership through punctuality, adherence to dress code and hygiene standards, and active participation in team meetings.
