Merchandiser - FMCG

About the Role

Our client is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Merchandiser to join their dynamic team in Vereeniging. This role is essential for ensuring optimal product placement, visibility, and sales performance in retail outlets across the Gauteng region for their FMCG product range. You will be responsible for implementing in-store plans, maintaining stock levels, ensuring product presentation standards, and gathering market intelligence. The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, and has a keen eye for retail display and product appeal within the fast-moving consumer goods market.

• Execute in-store merchandising plans according to company guidelines and retail partner agreements.
• Ensure products are correctly priced, stocked, and displayed in prime locations within retail stores.
• Maintain product freshness and rotate stock to minimize spoilage and ensure optimal shelf appearance.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with store managers and staff to facilitate effective merchandising efforts.
• Gather competitor information, sales data, and customer feedback from retail visits to inform strategy.
• Identify opportunities for increased sales and brand visibility within assigned retail accounts.

• High school diploma or equivalent; further education or certifications in marketing or retail are a plus.
• Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in merchandising or a related retail field, preferably within FMCG.
• Strong understanding of retail environments and visual merchandising principles.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with store personnel.
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license for travel to various store locations.
