Retail Stock Controller

Our client, a leading general retailer, is seeking a meticulous and organized Retail Stock Controller to join their team in Benoni, Gauteng . This role is critical for maintaining accurate inventory levels, managing stock flow, and minimizing stock discrepancies. You will be responsible for overseeing stocktaking processes, managing incoming and outgoing goods, and ensuring the integrity of inventory data within the store's systems.

• Conduct regular stocktakes (cycle counts and full inventory counts) accurately and efficiently.
• Monitor inventory levels and ensure stock accuracy within the company's inventory management system.
• Receive, check, and process all incoming stock deliveries, verifying quantities and quality against orders.
• Manage the dispatch of stock transfers to other branches or return of faulty goods.
• Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
• Implement and enforce stock control procedures and policies to minimize shrinkage and loss.
• Maintain organized stockroom areas, ensuring efficient storage and accessibility.
• Generate regular reports on inventory levels, stock movement, and stocktaking results.
• Collaborate with sales and purchasing teams to ensure adequate stock levels for sales demand.
• Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the stockroom and receiving areas.

• Proven experience in a stock control, inventory management, or warehouse role within a retail setting.
• Strong understanding of inventory management principles and best practices.
• Proficiency in using inventory management software and POS systems.
• Excellent analytical and numerical skills with a high degree of accuracy.
• Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to conduct physical stocktakes accurately.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Familiarity with health and safety procedures for stockrooms.
• Must be based in or able to commute to Benoni, Gauteng .
