Retail Loss Prevention Officer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a vigilant and proactive Retail Loss Prevention Officer to safeguard assets and minimize shrinkage at their stores in Nelspruit and surrounding areas within Mpumalanga . You will be responsible for implementing loss prevention strategies, investigating incidents of theft or fraud, and promoting a culture of security awareness among staff. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong observational skills, and the ability to respond effectively to security challenges in a retail environment.

• Monitor store activities to detect and prevent theft, fraud, and other security risks.
• Conduct investigations into suspected internal and external theft incidents, gathering evidence and preparing reports.
• Implement and enforce loss prevention policies and procedures to minimize merchandise and cash loss.
• Conduct regular security audits and provide recommendations for improving store security measures.
• Train store staff on loss prevention awareness and best practices.
• Work closely with store management and law enforcement as needed to resolve security issues.

• Previous experience in loss prevention , security, or law enforcement is highly preferred.
• Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent investigative and report-writing abilities.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with staff and customers.
• Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations.
• Knowledge of retail security systems and surveillance equipment is a plus.
