Alarm Technician

Requirements:

• PSIRA certification essential
• Experienced in installations and maintenance of alarm systems.
• Relevant surveillance / security / alarm experience
• Valid drivers license
• Technical aptitude with a good knowledge of CCTV / Alarm technology
• Experience in CCTV repair and setup
• Ability to be part of a team and to work unsupervised
• Mature personality with problem solving abilities
• Ability to both give and take instruction – good communication skills
• Ability to handle pressurized situations

Key Performance Areas:

• Maintain and repair all installed equipment on a designated site
• Attend to surveillance installations / management of the project in the event of utilizing a sub-contractor
• Maintain the technical integrity (including hardware and software) all equipment on site
• Assist clients with technical aspects of the surveillance service
• Liaise with the Service / Technical Department with regards to equipment faults, repairs and installations
• Liaise with the client and / or the clients Representative with regards to equipment faults
• Liaise with suppliers / providers with regards to equipment and services
• Installing, maintaining, repairing and updating hardware on surveillance equipment
• Installing, maintaining and updating software
• Maintenance (housekeeping) of the designated site
• Training (Operators and clients)
  Telephonic support for clients and other Technicians
• Managing the operations (repairs / installations) on a designated site
• Attend to potential clients site assessments in a professional manner ensuring they choose the best product that best suits their needs as well as ensuring these products are compatible in the control room
