Road Worker Supervisor: Routine Maintenance; Vanrhynsdorp

Minimum Requirements

Grade (equivalent or higher qualification); A minimum of 3 years semi-skilled manual experience; A valid (Code EC) driving licence with professional drivers permit (PDP).

Manage and supervise a team;
Plan, supervise and undertake road maintenance activities;
Determine material quantities for road maintenance activities;
Define road defects and undertake corrective measures;
Safeguard work areas in terms of the Occupational Health and Safety Act;
Train subordinates

The following will be advantageous: Experience in the following:
Civil construction activities;
Operating large construction machines;
Management and Supervision of staff;
Administrative related experience.

Good understanding of the maintenance and repair of defects on roads and within road reserves;
Conflict and diversity management;
Skills needed:
Communication (verbal and written);
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines;
Ability to work in a team;
Self-motivated.

R - R per annum (Salary Level
4)

Nominated Candidate/s will be subjected to a medical fitness test as prescribed by the Construction Regulations, as contained in the OHS Act, /3

Shortlisted candidates will be required to submit copies of their documentation for verification purposes. These candidates will be required to complete a practical assessment and attend the interview on a date and time as determined by the department and may also be required to undergo competency assessments/proficiency test. The selection process will be guided by the EE targets of the employing department.
